Brandt got me a new purse for Christmas (what I mean by that is I bought it, he wrapped it, and I acted all surprised and excited when I opened it and praised him for his good taste). My old purse always seemed to be overflowing with who knows what, so I figured the solution to that was to buy a bigger purse (duh - Great Scott I'm a genius!!)! And it has been a great purchase, although lately it seems to just keep getting heavier and heavier. So I figured it was time to actually open her up and clean her out. And this is what I found:

Intense! Let's pick these items apart shall we? I'm sure there is a perfectly valid reason for everything in here:
*Apple and carrot

s. For Thursdays and Fridays when we work straight through with no lunch break (mind you, this particular apple is now verging on rotten and the carrots are so dried out there's no way a human would eat them - they've been in here for over a month). Lovely. Moving on:
*My dental hygie

ne supplies: an end-tufted brush (for in the future when I get my braces, I'll be all set!); not one, but TWO tubes of toothpaste (you can never have enough toothpaste apparently - although surprisingly, I have no toothbrush in here to apply it with); and lastly FLUORIDE (cherry flavor)!! (just in case I get the tingling that a cavity may be coming on (or I get a craving for cherries), NO WORRIES - I can just shove some fluoride on the tooth and I'll be all set! Phew, emergency diverted!
*The essen

tials: gum, pills, feminine hygiene products (that sounds so dainty doesn't it?), extra contacts, etc.
*Essentials nĂºmero dos: lip gloss, lotion,

perfume, compact, nail file, and of course Tide to Go...just in case (side note: I actually used to use the Tide frequently when I was at work and I got a blood splatter or pumice on my scrubs...but I've stopped caring about that - pure laziness really - I just throw 'em in the wash when I get home and it's all good; But the Tide to Go really does work in case you're wondering :)
*Wallet, checkboo

k, change for the bus (just kidding, I don't ride the bus), pens, highlighter for church. This stuff actually makes sense.
*A bunch of re

ceipts, check stubs, and notepads. You can never have too many notepads.
*Broken

cell phones. Yeah, they don't work. Why they are still in here is beyond my comprehension.
*Garbage.

My purse is a gold mine if you are a raccoon.
Needless to say, I had some cleaning out to do. And the funny thing is, it took less than two minutes to clear out all the junk and my purse feels ten pounds lighter.

So...I'm curious...am I the only pack rat out there?
What's in YOUR wallet?

Most of what is in my purse seems to have to do with being a mom. For example, I have lots of band-aids (big ones for knees and such and all other sizes too), a diaper and wipes, a pair of little girl panties in a ziploc (just in case). I also have lotion, toothbrush, all that normal stuff. And an important thing, I usually have my camera too!
HA!! I love this! My purse is just scary because you never know when you're going to find like an old, dirty diaper in it! Gross I know, but seriously, I find more booger-filled kleenexes in there than I ever remember using. ha,ha Oh yah, and squished granola or cereal bars for Haddyn. The life of a Mommy. :) I do have all the norm lip stuff, GUM, money, notepad and of course, my planner. Fun post Dani!!
wow...you're packin a lot, but i have no room to talk. brian always asks me what i've got in there because my bag weighs about 10 lbs too. i have a journal/notebook, wallet, camera, checkbook, usually some kind of granola bar, or a baggie of nilla wafers, pens, receipts, ibuprofen, phone, chapstick, etc. you know, everything you always need. it just gets to be heavy! and yes, i call it a "bag" - somehow i always feel "purse" is too small for my bag!
WOW! Glad I am NOT THE ONLY ONE! (I'm making sure Cason reads this post-he probably thinks his wife is the one and only with that kind of purse.) A while ago when I FINALLY decided to clean out the purse I found... 4 forks! :) And like 1 or 2 spoons. :) I had no idea they were in there, but wasn't too surprised-you never know what you will find in my purse!
so funny. i'm going to do this tomorrow and post it so you can read about it on my blog :) it's full too...but i have to admit - i don't have 2 non-working cell phones or a rotten apple in there :)
That is hilarious! Wow. My purse often contains diapers, wipes, snacks, sippy cups, and lots of garbage. I love the pics!!
hahaha this made me laugh! there is a game that i've played at a couple bridal showers to see what people have in their purse. there is a sheet online you can use that lists things and you get points for everything you have (or you can just make up your own)...more points for the less common things. it's pretty funny to see what people pull out.
I don't carry a purse anymore. But usually in my diaper bag are diapers, wipes, extra kids clothes, snacks. And then all their other garbage from the snacks etc...
Haha....Dani you're so funny. I have a lot of junk in my purse but the apple and carrots are just gross!!! :) And you have like 5 lip gloss's. Do you put them all on at once to achieve the perfect color? BTW...you have a really cute new purse!
